The Buffalo Ranch is located at the corner of Tenaja Road and Calle Bandido in the rolling oak
treed hills of Tenaja. Tenaja is a small elite community on the Santa Rosa Plateau
comprised of equestrian estate type ranches. It's bordered by the Cleveland National
Forest and the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.
The Buffalo Ranch was once part of the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Ranch. The Buffalo Ranch
has been a local landmark for years. It borders the prestigious gate-guarded private
community of Meadow Oaks. The Polo Grounds is located on the west side of the Ranch and is one of five regulation polo fields in
Southern California (Rancho Santa Fe, Santa Barbara, Palisades and Indio)
Springtime in Tenaja brings out fields of greenery mixed with colorful wildflowers. The Buffalo Ranch is bordered by a forest of century old oak trees interspersed with giant rock
formations. Meadow lakes is a string of lakes, which run from Calle Pino through the private
community of Meadow Oaks, and continues through Buffalo Ranch and the Polo Grounds. All sorts
of waterfowl inhabit the lakes; reeds, willows and native grasses ring the lakes, which lend
a serene setting.
A few miles from the Buffalo Ranch in the Cleveland National Forest is Tenaja Falls; where a
wide creek cascades over granite cliffs 150 feet down into the valley below. It's worth a visit!
